"Your Thesis" is a programme in which we support you in the process of writing your final thesis. Find out more about what kind of support we offer and how to participate.

Your Thesis – Our support programme for your thesis writing process

The process of writing a final thesis can be quite daunting. Your Thesis is a programme that we have developed to support you along the way with advice, helpful tips, and knowledge needed to conduct a scientific research project. The programme consists of four complementary modules: a monthly colloquium, a tutorial, our regular thesis supervision, and resources for independend learning (i.e., a Moodle course).
If you choose to have your thesis supervised by a member of our chair, we request that you attend all modules of Your Thesis, as this will ensure you to receive guidance necessary to successfully complete your thesis. Note however, that the colloquium is open to all students of the Faculty of Sport Science (and registration is required).

Currently, all modules of Your Thesis are offered in German language only. Please navigate to our German site for details on registration and important dates.

Colloquium

In our monthly colloquium sessions you will learn how to approach a research question, how to conduct scientific research, and how to apply this knowledge to your own project. You will also have the opportunity to present your research proposal and receive feedback from your peers and us.

Regular Thesis Supervision

You will meet your supervisor regularly to discuss your research process and progress. We will answer specific questions on methods, give advice on ethical concerns, and provide you with tips on the writing process and the use of scientific language. In addition, we will help you prepare your presentation and thesis defence. You are also welcome to discuss career perspectives with us.

Tutorial

In the tutorial module, a tutor helps you address more general questions on basic topics related to your thesis. We advise you to use the tutorial sessions to ensure you are well-prepared for meetings with your thesis supervisor.
