Aim

The aim of the course is to provide PhD students with more in depth knowledge on designing, conducting and evaluating interventions in sport and exercise psychology. Further, students will gain practical experience on how to prepare manuscripts for publication, will learn about what editors are looking for in the manuscript submission process and learn about the pros and cons of open science and research dissemination via social media. Students will also have the opportunity to network with international students and experts in the field. Finally, the chance to present and discuss their own work with the experts is given. Overall, the course will enable communication, networking and cooperation among the students and the experts.

  1. Lectures on interventions in sport and exercise psychology
  2. Student presentations of their PhD projects
  3. Opportunity for individual supervision with the invited experts
  4. Workshop on publication strategies and how to prepare a manuscript for submission
  5. A session about careers in academia
  6. A session about research dissemination via social media
  7. A session about open science
  8. Social program including sightseeing, physical activity and an evening in a pub

    Registration

    The deadline for registration is June 1, 2020.
    Students will be informed of their acceptance by June 15, 2020.

    Credits

    4 ECTS. Students willing to present their PhD project during the course (30 min. presentation) may be awarded with one additional ECTS point (=5 ECTS points total).

    Course fee

    The course fee of 175,- Euros includes the scientific program, coffee breaks, four dinners, and the social program. Each student must pay and arrange their own travel to the course as well as find accommodation.
